Story: Stefan had always been a thug. When the power of darkness flooded through him, it awakened a latent gift lying in his ancestry – wolf-based lycanthropy. He easily came to dominate his local street gang. When he encoutered Ranko and company during the Genocide Conflicts – and was invited to visit the Orphanage – he decided to check on this potential rival, and found an 11-year old kid, three years younger than he was, far lighter, and probably a lot less combat-savvy in possession of the three most beautiful 11-year-old werebitches he’d ever seen, a pair of 8 and 10-year-old bitches he hadn’t even mounted yet, and a subservient boy so young as to be no threat at all.
   No problem: he’d jump the boy, beat him into submission, castrate him and the little kid, and use him to make the bitches lift their tails and submit.
   Well, that was the plan. Unfortunately, Vasilko recognized exactly what such a challenge was about, defeated Stefan easily, and let the girls keep him unconscious while he worked up a binding spell and did a little research on his options. The research results were kind of scary actually; he hadn’t really been aware of his own legal status before.
   Still, a lot seemed to depend on Stephens mental status. He could keep him anyway – it was a more-or-less valid “bet” and nobody was likely to come looking or to call him on it – especially since he’d been so much younger when he was challenged – but it would be a lot more legal if he just owned Stefan outright.
Legal stuff… He took Stefan to Dr. Midnight and asked for the test.
   “Hmm… He’s animalistic all right, and I can’t find any records on him. I see you’ve already got a control-spell on him; are you claiming ownership? Yes? Well, you’ll need to get a license and registration – check at the desk in city hall – but you’ve already proved that you can keep him under control: I can certify that for you. Remember though, if he bites anyone you’ll be in a lot of trouble.”
   Vasilko could forgive threats against him: he wasn’t so tolerant of threats against his mates and pack members. He took Stefan to the vet to be given his shots and for a little legal, official, and permanent neutering. That was one of the privileges of ownership – and he thought it needed to be done, even if it might get him into trouble later. If something happened to him, at least his pack would be safe from this particular menace.
