The Brick is very very strong. The Brick is almost invulnerable. The Brick is easily confused and manipulated. The Brick’s power set is very simple. His life is less so.
A founding member of the Mandate, The Brick was one of their most reliable members. While heroes with complex powers, and strange histories, and weird dimensional connections came and went, The Brick was always there to announce “Hey! Cut Out All This Villainy!”
No one was to know where The Brick came from for quite some time. He simply appeared one day during an apartment-building fire-and-collapse to assist and soon became known as a local – if occasionally somewhat bumbling – hero. A visit to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get a tag for his car drew the attention of several other heroes – and resulted in The Brick joining in the newly-founded Mandate – when a crazed transformation expert changed his car (and several other cars) into a small herd of Triceratops.
From then on he battled Zombies, Affrighter, Catastrophe, the Ten Demons, the Silver Twilight, and Undead Nazis, competed in the Tournament of the Dragon, took Children to School, fought Tyrannon, had to swim though the earth’s mantle, associated with succubuses and unicorns, confused the Seven Horsemen – and finally elected to remain behind in the Silver Twilight to help seal the portals between that dark realm and the Earth.
Along the way he turned out to be a shapeshifted psychic dolphin. And yes, that was weird, even if it did make sense of a lot of his limitations and personality patterns.
